Arts on Prescription

We're delighted to be working with Arts and Minds to bring their Arts on Prescription programme to Northstowe for the first time this autumn!

Arts on Prescription is a 12-week programme of arts workshops for adults over the age of 18 who are experiencing mental health challenges, including anxiety and depression. Arts on Prescription programmes provide friendly and inclusive spaces where previous experience of art is not necessary and newcomers to the arts are encouraged!

Each session is led by two Creative Specialists experienced in the area of mental health, and you can expect to explore working with a wide range of materials and techniques. These sessions are focused on trying new things, embracing your creative side and meeting new people, with no expectation that you have to be ‘good’ at art (whatever that means!).

Is there a cost? Arts and Minds does ask for a voluntary contribution of £60 for the programme to support their costs and help them continue this vital work. However, they believe that cost should never be a barrier to positive mental health, so if this contribution is not feasible for you, please contact them and they will work with you to find a solution together.

"I didn’t expect to feel as comfortable there as I did, which is good, normally I can be anxious around new places and people but I felt comfortable pretty quick"

Where: Northstowe Community Centre, The Green, Pathfinder Way, Northstowe CB24 1FD

When: Tuesdays, 12th September - 12th December 2023, 6.30-8.30pm (with a break for half-term on 24th October)
