Let’s light up Northstowe this winter!
If you've made a lantern at one of our workshops, at school or at home, be part of the Parade through Northstowe. If you don't fancy being part of the parade, pick a spot along the route to cheer us on - or head straight down to the Green! The route of the Parade, with viewing points highlighted, is available here.
Make a lantern at home from things in your recycling bin!
We're delighted that the Parade will be led this year by Devil's Dyke Morris, and there might be an opportunity for you to have a go at morris-dancing when we reach the Green too!
As well as lots of wonderful individual lanterns made from willow and tissue paper, milk bottles, jam jars and more, some of Northstowe's community groups have made giant group lanterns which we can't wait to see! Look out for Pathfinder Church Northstowe, Northstowe Youth Hive, Emmanuel Church Northstowe and Northstowe Muslims!
At the Green there will be festive food trucks (BrewBoard, Nomadough and Pig-Casso's!) and a live music stage, with jazz carols from Emmanuel Church Northstowe at 5.30pm and an opportunity for Santa Selfies by the Christmas Tree.
Our MC for the evening, the wonderful Matt Webb from our media partners Cambridge 105 Radio, will kick things off on-stage at 6pm with performances by students at Pathfinder Primary School, Hatton Park Primary School and Northstowe Secondary College; Mayor Richard Owen will then Light Up Northstowe!!
